Pam Fisher – Director, The Media Institute
The Media Institute (TMI) is a major new academic-industry research initiative, building on the concentration of creative industries and world-class Universities in London. Based at University College London, TMI works with leading media industry stakeholders. Pam’s work is primarily to innovate, instigate and manage R&D projects in media technology. This includes ensuring that academic research is accessible to industry; growing net R&D within media industry; and articulating major challenges in media research.

Yiannis Andreopoulos – UCL
Yiannis is an Electrical Engineer from the University of Patras, Greece and a PhD in Applied Sciences from the University of Brussels. He works in the fields of multimedia stream processing and coding, error-tolerant computing, signal processing & transform design, and wireless protocols for low-end systems (e.g. sensor networks).

Kyohei Koyama – Data Scientist (Braintree Ltd)
Kyohei works at Braintree Ltd as a Data Scientist. He previously works within consultancy at PWC Strategy and was involved in several consultancy projects including market research, due diligence, and IT system transformation. He also applied deep learning and data science skills to problems in industry such as manufacturing, finance, retail and e-commerce. He received a BEng in Systems Innovation at the University of Tokyo and MSc in Computational Statistics and Machine Learning at University College London with a Distinction.

Marcelo Gutierrez – Data Scientist (Braintree Ltd)
Marcelo currently works at Braintree Ltd as a Data Scientist where he works on graph-based machine learning and anomaly detection problems. Prior to this he gained a Msc Data Science and Machine Learning from University College London (UCL). Previously Marcelo worked at Mojix applying machine learning models to predict sales in the retail industry. He also did macroeconomic research on the Bolivian labour market at the Institute for Advanced Studies in Development (INESAD).

Manal Adham – Consultant (Braintree Ltd)
Manal Adham is a Consultant at Braintree Ltd. She received her PhD in Artificial Intelligence from University College London (UCL) in 2018. She has also received a BSc in Computer Science and MSc in information security. During her PhD she worked as a teaching assistant in programming courses for undergraduates and postgraduates. Her research focuses on building solutions for the optimisation of real-world logistics problems.

Laura Plaku – Operations Manager (Braintree Ltd)
Laura works at Braintree Ltd as an Operations Manager, and oversees the projects within the Consultancy and Research departments. She is also currently completing a masters in Psychology at the University of East London. Laura worked within the pharmaceutical industry and managed multiple projects within medical communications and market access, across a variety of product ranges. Prior to this she completed her BSc in Biomedical Science at the University of Hertfordshire.
